* Summer Letterbox Adventure, through July 30. Explore the parks and search for small hidden boxes while learning about nature. Sign up to receive a booklet of clues at any Delaware County District Library branch before July 30. Presenting sponsor Preferred Wireless will provide mini-binoculars and insulated lunch bags for the first 150 children who complete the adventure. All ages.

* Thursday Evening Concert Series, 7 to 8:30 p.m. July 7 and 14 at Gallant Woods Park, 2151 Buttermilk Hill Road, Delaware. Code Blue Band, a blues, swing and 1980s-90s band, will perform July 7, with Marquis 66 bringing classic rock to the stage July 14. Admission and parking are free; donations are appreciated. Attendees may bring blankets, lawn chairs and refreshments, or purchase food from a food truck. Alcohol is prohibited in the park. Free; all ages.

* In Search Of..., 10 a.m. July 9 at Emily Traphagen Park, 5094 Seldom Seen Road, Powell. Join park staff in an off-trail search for answers to mysteries in the park. Wear long pants and sturdy shoes and bring a water bottle. Free; ages 7 and older.

* Critter Clues: Nature's Whodunit, 10 a.m. to noon July 10 at Emily Traphagen Park. Join a park officer to investigate a "crime scene" and follow the clues and evidence throughout the park to solve the caper. Free; ages 6-9.

* Little Adventurers, 10 a.m. July 12 at Shale Hollow Park, 6320 Artesian Run, Lewis Center. Get outside this summer and explore nature with a little one. Come prepared to get messy with hands-on activities. Free; ages 5 and younger, accompanied by a parent.

* Picnic in the Park, 6:30 p.m. July 15 at Deer Haven Park, 4183 Liberty Road, Delaware. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy a program on birds of prey hosted by the Ohio Wildlife Center, then finish with Dutch-oven dump cake and ice cream.
