Students show off creations at fair

Four Olentangy science, technology, engineering and mathematics students will show their creations during the Ohio School Board Association's Student Achievement Fair, to be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, 400 N. High St.

The fair showcases unique projects and programs Ohio school districts have created to boost student achievement and engage youth in learning and growth. The Olentangy students were selected to participate based on items they made while attending Olentangy Academy.

Sophomore Jonathon Lee created an electric viola using his own materials, while another sophomore, Gracie Murray, used JavaScript to create an animation with a rocket ship, moon and sun. Lexie Brengartner and Sydney Gray designed, built and tested a mouse emulator for a sixth-grade student with limited mobility, allowing him to choose videos and play his first video game.

The fair will be held during the association's Capital Conference and Trade Show.
