Epiphany Lutheran Church, 268 Hill Road N., is preparing for its 50th anniversary celebration in September.

In honor of the event, former pastors and associate pastors are serving as guest preachers on the second Sunday of each month.

The next "Celebration Sunday" will be held Aug. 14, with the Rev. Stephen Wachtman. He was a "son of the congregation" and a member of Epiphany for 20 years.

Wachtman graduated from Capital University in 1985 and from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in 1992. He has served on the Ohio Lutheran Campus Ministry board and is a currently a member of the board of trustees at Capital.

Wachtman served as associate pastor at Epiphany for one year. He has been at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Upper Arlington since 1992.

The worship service will begin at 9 a.m. A ministry fair will be observed in the Gathering Space following the service, with the contemporary worship service to follow at 11 a.m. A congregational potluck will be held at 12:15 p.m.
