From Nov. 1-5, boxes will be awaiting food donations at the following Pickerington locations:

The food pantry’s most-needed items are baked beans, canned meats, pancake mix, pineapple, pancake syrup, mixed vegetables, diced tomatoes, ramen noodle soup, black beans, chunky soups and tuna.

This five-day food drive will culminate on Saturday, Nov. 5, with the kickoff of the PCMA Food Pantry’s fourth annual “Plaza of Lights” fundraiser. Volunteers will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 5, to receive donations of $5 for each bulb or $125 for a string of lights to help light up the trees in Pickerington Plaza for the holidays. To contribute, stop by the plaza, adjacent to the Pickerington-Violet Township Historical Society Museum near the intersection of Columbus Street and Lockville Road.

The Friends of the Pickerington Public Library will host a fall used book sale Thursday, Nov. 3, through Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Pickerington Public Library, 201 Opportunity Way.

Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Friends members may attend a preview sale from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2.

The sale will include approximately 8,000 books, 800 VHS movies, 150 DVDs, 300 CDs and 600 audio books. Most books are priced at $1.50. Sale proceeds benefit library programs such as Patches for Progress, the summer reading program and other programming for adults and children.
