The Pickerington High School North girls volleyball team extended its winning streak to 25 matches and won its third consecutive Division I district championship on Saturday, Oct. 29.

The Pickerington High School North girls volleyball team extended its winning streak to 25 matches and won its third consecutive Division I district championship with a 25-15, 25-23, 25-15 victory over ninth-seeded Thomas Worthington in a district final Saturday, Oct. 29, at Big Walnut.

The district's top seed, North improved to 25-1 and advanced to play Dublin Coffman in a regional semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Hilliard Davidson.

Seeded third, Coffman defeated fifth-seeded Olentangy Liberty 25-21, 30-28, 25-15 in a district final Saturday, Oct. 29, at Big Walnut to improve to 22-4. The district championship is the Shamrocks' fifth in a row.

Also winning a district title in Division I was 13th-seeded Watterson, which upset second-seeded Newark 25-19, 25-23, 16-25, 25-17 at Big Walnut to improve to 13-11. The Eagles will play Findlay in a regional semifinal at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Davidson.

The North-Coffman winner will play the Watterson-Findlay winner in a regional final at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Davidson.

In Division II district finals Saturday, Oct. 29, at Liberty, top-seeded DeSales defeated fourth-seeded Jonathan Alder 26-24, 25-21, 25-19 to capture its first district championship since 2004, and second-seeded Hartley beat eighth-seeded Sparta Highland 25-17, 25-21, 25-9 for its seventh consecutive district title.

DeSales improved to 23-2 and will play Celina in a regional semifinal at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at Ontario, with the winner playing Mansfield Madison or Parma Padua in a regional final at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Ontario.

Hartley improved to 20-5 and will play Dover in a regional semifinal at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at Zanesville, with the winner playing Fairfield Union or East Liverpool in a regional final at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Zanesville.

In a Division III district final Saturday, Oct. 29, at Hilliard Bradley, fourth-seeded Ready beat third-seeded Centerburg 25-15, 25-14, 25-21 for its second consecutive district championship.

The Silver Knights improved to 20-5 and advanced to play Lima Central Catholic in a regional semifinal at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Findlay. The winner will play Metamora Evergreen or Milan Edison in a regional final at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Findlay.

In a Division IV district final Saturday, Oct. 29, at Pickerington North, fourth-seeded Worthington Christian lost to top-seeded Shekinah Christian 25-15, 25-16, 25-12.
