The Big Walnut High School football team's next OCC-Capital opponent boasts a highly productive offense with plenty of speed and experience at the skill positions.

Franklin Heights, which plays host to Big Walnut on Friday, Oct. 7, was averaging 38.4 points through five games. The Falcons are 6-0 overall after defeating Groveport 35-7 in the league opener Sept. 30.

In last season's meeting, the Golden Eagles led 35-14 at halftime but were outscored 38-6 in the second half to lose 52-41 in week 10, as the teams tied for seventh in the league at 1-6.

Among the Falcons' offensive leaders is quarterback Dylan Akers, who threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Rhodes late in the fourth quarter to help Franklin Heights defeat Grove City 28-14 on Sept. 23. Akers completed nine of 14 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns.

Running back Brenden Knox rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown against the Dawgs.

Big Walnut, which is 1-5 overall after losing 31-17 while opening league play at home against Newark on Sept. 30, earned its first victory by defeating visiting Westerville South 24-17 on Sept. 23.

The Golden Eagles trailed 17-16 after the third quarter, but quarterback Tyler H. Ronk threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Tyler A. Ronk with about five minutes left and running back Evan Garcia took a direct snap and ran for the two-point conversion to complete the scoring.

Garcia also caught on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Tyler H. Ronk and running back David Hunt scored on a 71-yard run. The Golden Eagles also recorded a safety against the Wildcats, who fell to 0-5.
