Saturday, Oct. 2, is "Apple Cider Day" at the library. Children can see a demonstration of an old-fashioned apple press at 10:15 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., adults can get their own fresh cider to take home. Participants should bring a 5-pound bag of apples and a half-gallon container. All cider will be unpasteurized and must be consumed within two to three days or frozen. No registration is required.

The Columbus Museum of Art will bring "Art Around Town" to the library Saturday, Oct. 2. At noon, a CMA docent will lead a conversation about a mystery portrait. From 1 to 4 p.m., the portrait will be on display, the ProMusica string quartet will perform and children can make a Russian-inspired treasure box. No registration is required and all activities are free.

The Otterbein University theatre department will visit at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, to perform a concert of family friendly Broadway selections. No registration required.

Children can create a dried flower "Fall Plant Collage" based on the book "Bunnicula" by Deborah Howe on Sunday, Oct. 3. Preschoolers and kindergartners will meet at 2 p.m. and grades 1-5 will meet at 3 p.m. Creations may be entered in the NorWest Flower Show, to be held Oct. 16 and 17. Registration is required at

The Thurber House returns at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, to present a "Ghost Story Writing Workshop" for grades four to six. Create a funny ghost story based on James Thurber's "The Night the Ghost Got In." A party celebrating the group's story will be held at the Thurber House Sunday, Oct. 24. Registration is required and limited.

"Fall Storytimes" run through Oct. 14. "Babytime" for infants to age 2 meets at 10:15 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. "Tales for Twos and Threes" meets at 11:15 a.m. Mondays and 10:15 a.m. Thursdays. "Preschool" for children ages 3-5 meets at 4 p.m. Mondays and 10:15 a.m. Tuesdays. "Family Storytime" meets at 7 p.m. Mondays. No registration is required.
