To help keep the local area business climate resilient during the holiday season, the Upper Arlington Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the city launched its own type of economic stimulus package just in time for the holidays.

"I am very pleased with the response from Arlington area merchants to our Top 100 Hot Items promotion," said Jon Pugh of Ship Print eSell and chair of the retail committee. "Chamber staff and retail committee members have gone 'above and beyond' to put this program together in a very short time, making the response from local merchants a pleasant surprise. If UA area consumers respond to this promotion as expected it will be something we can build on for not only next year, but future holiday seasons."

We're really putting an emphasis on spending your money with local area businesses and keeping your dollars here at home.

"If you spend one dollar at a local independent merchant, 68 cents of that dollar will be reinvested in our community, because that merchant is eating locally and buying goods and services locally. That's a real eye-opener for people," said Becky Hajost, chamber of commerce president.

Thanks to the promotion, area residents who used to drive to the mall to shop are thinking about where they can get unique gifts items close to home.

And remember, if you live in UA, you should shop in UA!
