Parker Raabe and John Thornton, both seniors at Bishop Watterson High School, have received the Eagle Scout award.

The two are members of St. Agatha Boy Scout Troop 298. John is the son of Sarah and Robert Thornton and Parker is the son of John and P. Nini Raabe.

Thornton's Eagle project involved making 56 survival packs for the homeless at the Open Shelter. The backpacks contained toiletries, winter clothes and blankets. He spent six months collecting donations from St. Agatha, St. Timothy and St Andrew parishes.

For his project, Raabe planted 100 white pine and Austrian pine trees at Green Lawn Cemetery, in honor of the unclaimed bodies of Franklin County. The 100 trees were also in honor of 100 years of scouting.
