Three boys received a scolding from police this week after allegedly stealing political signs from local residences.

Upper Arlington police responded to the 1800 block of Bedford Road at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 14 after a resident reported observing three juveniles taking political signs from front yards in the south Upper Arlington area.

None of the boys' names, ages or addresses were provided by police, but an Upper Arlington police report stated the resident followed a vehicle the boys were traveling in to a house on Bedford Road.

When officers arrived, they found the vehicle parked on the street and political signs were visible inside it.

An officer then spoke with the boys and their parents, and all agreed to return each sign.

According to the report, the parents agreed to accompany the boys as they returned the signs and "advised the homeowner(s) they were responsible for taking" them.

The reporting officer said he later verified that all the signs were returned, and each victim declined to file charges.
