The Upper Arlington High School crew team will play host to the second annual Blake Haxton Fall Invitational regatta from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, on the east bank of Griggs Reservoir.

More than 500 rowers from six states will compete.

The Haxton Invitational was initiated last year by UA boys crew coach Chris Swartz to honor former team captain Blake Haxton, who lost his legs to flesh-eating bacteria in spring 2009.

Haxton now is a student at Ohio State.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Upper Arlington Crew Scholarship Fund.
