Cadette Girl Scout Troop 1051 member Emily DiAlbert, an eighth grade student at Walnut Springs Middle School, recently earned a Girl Scout Silver Award.

The Silver Award is the highest award a Cadette Girl Scout can achieve.

As part of her award project, DiAlbert visually documented every animal available for adoption through New Beginnings, a no-kill animal shelter. The photo album scrapbooks she created are used at adoption events throughout Columbus, allowing potential owners to learn about all the adoptable pets.

The scrapbooks will be continually updated as new animals are available for adoption.
