Sophia Toe of the Westerville area recently was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Toe is pursuing a degree in biology at Berea College.

Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors, having at least 72 semester hours, are eligible for membership.

* Westerville students who received degrees at Ashland University's December commencement are: Matthew Kelly, master of business administration in executive management; Patrick Tresey, master of business administration degree in executive management; and Ryan Floyd, bachelor's degree magna cum laude in intervention specialist.

* Kimberly Sausman of Westerville recently received a bachelor's degree from Troy University.

Sausman also was named to the university's chancellor's list for the fall semester of the 2015-16 academic year.

* Westerville residents named to the fall semester dean's list at Heidelberg University include Allison Gales, a junior criminal justice and psychology major, and Jakob Kress, a freshman integrated media major.
