A 16-year-old girl and her father were arrested after a domestic dispute at their home on Spring Road late Jan. 2.

According to Westerville police reports, both said the argument began over the man not taking the girl somewhere that night. A physical altercation allegedly began when the girl kicked down her father's door to continue the argument.

The girl said she tried to take a cellphone from him, reports said, while the father said she punched him in the face. The girl said her father then struck her in the nose.

Officers noted injuries to her nose and to his lip that were consistent with both stories.

Both were arrested for domestic violence and assault because police could not determine an aggressor.

The father was transported to the Franklin County jail while the daughter was taken to the Franklin County Village Network Reception Center.
