Dolly Parton's Imagination Library: Westerville's library is teaming with the Imagination Library to encourage a love of books in young children. Each month, the national organization mails a free book to the home of each registered child. To register, a child must be younger than 5 years old and live in the Westerville City School District. * Every Child Ready to Read, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28. The basics of brain development and early literacy skills will be shared with expectant parents and parents/caregivers of children ages birth to 2 years old. Led by library staff at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital. Call 614-898-6667 to register.

* Tunes & Tales, 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. with sign interpretation and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30. The annual presentation of Tunes & Tales will feature Barn Dance! performed by the Westerville Symphony and narrated by the library. After each half-hour performance, the musicians meet with children and share their instruments. Each family will receive a copy of the related book. For ages 4-8 and their families. Free. Meeting rooms. Registration is required and underway.

* Winter II Storytime Session. Registration opens Monday, Feb. 1, for storytimes which start the week of February 14. The 30-minute programs include Drop-In Preschool Storytime, Read and Reach, Wonderworks and Yoga Tales. Call Youth Services or go online for details and to register.

* Starting from Seed: Vegetable Plants, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 1. Learn basic principles and key features of successful seed starting with Franklin County Master Gardener Joanne Dole. Meeting Room B. Registration required.

* Books & Blocks, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3. Enjoy a brief storytime then use toy building materials to re-create characters and objects from the stories. Ages 3-6. Activity Center. Registration required. Creations will not be taken home.

* Harry Potter Book Night, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 4. A night of spells awaits ages 6 and older at this worldwide celebration of all things Potter. Test your wizard knowledge. Dress robes are encouraged, but not required. Activity Center. Registration required.
