A Westerville man believes someone he knows stole his vehicle, and a rifle that was inside, from where it was parked at his residence in the first block of North Vine Street between Dec. 8 and 16.

The victim returned home Dec. 16 to find the vehicle and the person gone.

He had not given permission for the vehicle to be used, the report said.

He allegedly exchanged text messages with the individual, who said he "had the items and would be bringing them back shortly," but he stopped responding and never returned the vehicle and weapon.

Warrants have been filed, and police are still investigating the case.
