Whitehall police arrested a girl for robbery at 11:30 a.m. May 21 at an apartment in the 100 block of Fairway Boulevard.

A 19-year-old woman told police the girl assaulted her and took her purse. The woman said she chased the girl, who ran into an apartment building.

Witnesses told police a girl matching the description of the suspect ran into a specific apartment and was not known to live there. Nobody would answer the door when police arrived, but they verified, through an agency leasing the apartment, that no female was known to live there.

An apartment manager supplied police a key to enter, and the girl was found hiding in a cabinet.

The girl was arrested and transported to Franklin County Children Services.
