Whitehall police are investigating the city's second homicide of 2015 and have no immediate leads after a fatal shooting that occurred Friday, Feb. 13, at an apartment building at 4218 Rickenbacker Ave.

Whitehall police responded to a report of shots fired at the location at 1:16 p.m. Feb. 13 and found an unresponsive male in the second-floor hallway of the apartment building, police said.

Whitehall medics transported the man, who sustained at least one gunshot wound, to Grant Hospital, where he died from his injuries, Whitehall police Detective John Grebb said in a press release.

Police identified the victim as Bobby J. Walker III, a Whitehall resident.

Police have not identified any suspects and are asking anyone who witnessed or has information about the shooting to call 614-237-6333.

The Feb. 13 homicide follows a fatal shooting Jan. 13 at Players Family Billiards, 4380 E. Main St.

Police arrested a 14-year-old boy, Erik Lavar Thompson Jr., in connection with the death of Jaurice A. Blakely, 18.

Thompson remains in custody pending a May 13 hearing in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.
