Whitehall police are investigating an early-morning shooting at an East Main Street bar.

No injuries were reported when gunfire reportedly erupted at JJ EEzy's Bar, 3878 E. Main St., at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 10.

Police responded to a report of shots fired north of Robinwood Avenue and East Main Street and found 10 shell casings in the parking lot of the bar.

Shortly after the responding to the report of shots fired, Whitehall was advised by Columbus police its officers had stopped a motorist for a traffic violation and that the vehicle had been hit by bullets.

The vehicle had bullet holes in the trunk, the rear glass was broken out and the front windshield was broken, Columbus police reported.

A revolver was found in the vehicle, but its relationship to the shooting is yet unknown, Whitehall Sgt. John Grebb said.

The occupants of the vehicle were transported to the Whitehall police department for questioning but released after it was determined they were the victims of a robbery, police said.

According to witnesses, a gray and black Hyundai SUV was seen leaving the scene of the bar and might be related to the investigation.
