Whitehall will contract next year for a citywide economic-development plan.

The plan is a comprehensive approach to previous plans of a similar nature, Woodruff said Thursday, Dec. 10.

"The updated plan should serve as a tool to provide clear direction in terms of promoting sustainable land development while maximizing municipal revenue potential through attracting jobs and capital investment," he said.

Woodruff said he hopes to seek request for qualifications by the end of January from interested firms and to choose a firm to perform the task by the end of February.

"A budget has not been established, but it will be later defined based on the proposals received," Woodruff said.

It should take about three to four months to complete the plan.

"We hope to have (a final product) before council next summer," Woodruff said.
