Police arrested a 33-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, each for assault, and a 44-year-old man for assault, OVI and improper backing after responding to a disturbance at El Mariachi Restaurant, 4740 E. Main St.

The restaurant owner told police at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24 the three were intoxicated and harassing patrons and that he ordered them to leave the premises.

The owner told police two of the men punched him; he had visible injuries, reports said.

Police were en route when they received a report the suspects were about to drive away in a pickup truck.

The driver of the truck backed into and struck the police cruiser as it arrived in the restaurant's parking lot, and all three men were arrested, according to reports.
