Columbus police are investigating a crash involving a Whitehall police officer that injured three people in another car,

The two-vehicle accident occurred at 9:38 p.m. Monday, March 21, at East Livingston Avenue and Shady Lane Road in Columbus.

The Whitehall officer was responding to an officer-in-trouble call made by Columbus police at Walnut Ridge High School,in the area of Lonsdale Road and East Livingston Avenue, Whitehall Police Chief Mark Newcomb said.

The officer was traveling east on East Livingston Avenue and collided with a vehicle traveling south on Shady Lane Road, Newcomb said.

A woman and two children in the other vehicle were transported to area hospitals and are in stable condition; the officer did not sustain injuries in the collision, Newcomb said.

Columbus police are investigating the accident and will report its findings to Whitehall police for further review, Newcomb said.
