Worthington officially got into the swing of summer this past Sunday evening with the first of the Sunday Concerts on the Green.

Worthington officially got into the swing of summer this past Sunday evening with the first of the Sunday Concerts on the Green.

Every Sunday through August, a different artist or group will perform on the northwest quadrant of the Village Green.

The free concerts begin at 7 p.m. Concert-goers are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

New this year will be three special Saturday concerts.

The Thomas Worthington High School symphonic band and wind ensemble kicked off the season May 19.

The next concert will be May 26, featuring the Worthington Chorus presenting Broadway favorites.

The rest of the schedule is as follows:

* June 2, The Apple Bottom Gang (country, rock, Americana).

* June 9, The Olde Souls and Makeshift Band (folk rock).

* June 23, Arnett Howard and Friends (Creole, funk, Motown, reggae, jazz).

* June 30, 2 Two Many (Celtic).

* July 2, RMT (Americana).

* July 14, Agent 99 ('70s and '80s).

* July 21, Worthington Civic Band (orchestra).

* July 28, In Full Swing (big band, swing).

* Aug. 4, Kavan (Elvis) with Columbus Horns ('60s and '70s, Elvis tribute).

* Aug. 11, OSU Alumni Band (marching band).

From 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 1, a special children's concert will feature a group called Endless Recess.

On Saturday, Aug.10, the Reaganomics will perform in a special '80s flashback dance party concert from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The final summer concert will be Saturday, Aug. 17, when the 122nd Ohio Army National Guard Band will perform at 7 p.m.
