A 22-year-old Worthington man was taken by Worthington police for psychiatric evaluation after causing damage inside Thomas Worthington High School, 300 W. Dublin Granville Road, May 12.

The suspect reportedly entered the school "without permission" at 11 p.m. and refused to stop when asked by staff.

He entered a restroom on the first floor, ripped a mirror off the wall and smashed it on a sink, according to reports. While a teacher calmed him down, he mentioned there were "evil spirits" following him.

It eventually was determined that he was having auditory hallucinations, and the man was transported to Ohio State University for psychiatric assistance. No charges have been filed.

* The father of a 29-year-old Worthington resident called police May 15 to report his son had threatened to kill him.

The complainant told police there had been multiple instances of domestic violence in the residence, where his son also lives.

Police filed a warrant for the suspect on domestic-violence and aggravated-menacing charges. They had yet to make contact with the suspect or make an arrest by ThisWeek's press time May 19.

* An 18-year-old student was suspected of using drugs while at Thomas Worthington High School on May 15.

Staff found a suspected marijuana pipe in her backpack, and she was issued a drug-paraphernalia summons through mayor's court, according to the report.

* A Worthington resident reported a vehicle was scratched by a sharp object while sitting in the 700 block of Hartford Street on the afternoon of May 13.
