* Northwest Library and Worthington Park Library's homework help centers are open from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. The Old Worthington Library center is open from 3 to 6 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays. Each center has dedicated computers, courtesy printing of homework-related materials and library staff and volunteers to help students with school assignments.

* Old Worthington Library's Thursday Morning Book Discussion Group will consider Anthony Doerr's All the Light We Cannot See on Thursday, Jan. 28, at 10:30 a.m.

* A videogame extravaganza is planned for teens at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Old Worthington Library.

* During The Art of Picture Books, children can explore the techniques picture book illustrators use, such as collaging, making pop-ups and watercolor painting. The program is planned from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Old Worthington Library. Dress for mess.

* Teens are invited for an afternoon of role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Dungeon World and others on Saturday, Jan. 30. No experience is necessary to attend the Northwest Library event, which starts at 2:30 p.m.

* AARP Tax-Aide counselors will provide tax preparation help Tuesdays, Feb. 2 through April 12, at Worthington Park Library. No age or membership requirements are necessary to take advantage of this service, which includes a free, 60-minute appointment. Registration is required.

* Northwest Library will host a LEGOs party for children ages 6-11 at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2.

* The library's Literary Libations book group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2 at The Pub Out Back, 679-C High St., Worthington. Participants will discuss Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Erik Larson.

* Ages 9-11 will create commercials for their favorite books on Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Old Worthington Library. Those attending the 4 p.m. Film It! workshop, presented in partnership with Thurber House, should bring their book and an iPad (the library's devices will be available to share). Registration is required.

* The Light Between Oceans, by M.L. Stedman, will be the topic of the Wednesday, Feb. 3, meeting of Speaking Volumes, an evening book discussion group that meets at Old Worthington Library. A 7:30 p.m. start is scheduled.

* The library's English Conversation Group for new English language learners will meet at Old Worthington Library at 7 p.m. Wednesdays through May 18. Library staff will help participants with basic English skills, pronunciation practice and English conversation.
