Daniel Whited will become Worthington's new director of service and engineering.

The post became vacant after the retirement of former director William Watterson in January.

Whited comes to Worthington from the city of Delaware, where he served as the public-service director, assistant city manager and economic-development director.

He also worked in the private sector for several years at Woolpert Inc. and the Floyd Browne Group.

Whited was introduced and approved by Worthington City Council on Monday, Feb. 1.
