Employees of a business in the 500 block of Lakeview Plaza Boulevard called Worthington police regarding an attempted burglary.

According to reports, workers heard noises coming from the front of the store around 10 p.m. March 10.

Moments later, they heard the building's alarm system and notified police.

Police arrived with canine units, but could not find anyone in the building. They believe the intruders parked away from the premises and escaped before they arrived, reports stated.

Workers on the scene did not see the would-be burglars, who also accessed a neighboring business. Nothing was reported stolen.

Worthington detectives have been assigned to the case, but have no suspects or video evidence.

In other recent incident reports from the Worthington Division of Police:

* An employee at a business in the 600 block of North High Street reported credit cards were stolen from her purse on the afternoon of March 8.

The employee reported that the purse was stored in an employees-only area not accessible to the general public.

The report is listed as a breaking-and-entering case because the cards were located in an area where customers are not permitted.

* A Worthington resident reported someone entered an unlocked garage in the 700 block of Morning Street on the night of March 7.

According to reports, the intruder stole golf clubs and a camera from an unlocked car in the garage.
