* MAC Faculty and Student Show, through Oct. 9; free. Explore the work of the MAC faculty and the students they have taught. Reflective of the MAC's program offerings, this exhibition features different mediums and subject matter.

* Exhibition on Screen: Goya Visions of Flesh and Blood, 7 p.m. Sept. 16; $12 online, $15 at the door. Discover Spain's celebrated artist with this cinematic tour de force based on the National Gallery's must-see exhibition Goya: The Portraits.

* Hear and Now: Hampton Sides, 7 p.m. Sept. 22; $15, $10 for Friends and MAC members. Sides is best-known for gripping nonfiction adventure stories set in war or depicting epic expeditions of discovery and exploration. His most recent history, In the Kingdom of Ice, describes the Arctic voyage of the USS Jeannette in the late 1800s. Meet the author and have dinner at 5:30 p.m. at a cost of $45, includes ticket. Limited to 60.

* An Evening with Dwight Lenox: Brown Eyes Does Blue Eyes, 8 p.m. Oct. 15; $20 online, $25 at the door. Lenox will be coming to the MAC with his quartet to play some familiar, traditional tunes -- mixed in with a bit of that Lenox style.

* Opera on the Edge: La Boheme, 8 p.m. Oct. 17; $15 online, $18 at the door. Opera Columbus pushes the emotional boundaries with this fast-paced contemporary version for those who have no experience in the art form, or who may not be inclined to attend a traditional performance.
