* Art & Soul: An Intimate Portrait, Joe Anastasi, through Dec. 31; free. An opening event is scheduled 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 13. Anastasi created this series of paintings and drawings to build awareness and raise funds for the needs of the disadvantaged and homeless in our city. Anastasi is a member of the St. Agatha St. Vincent de Paul Society and for more than 10 years, he has worked, fed and raised funds for those in need.

* The Music of Bob Allen, Featuring Dave Powers, Dave DeWitt and Aaron Scott, 3 p.m. Nov. 6; $20 online, $25 at the door. A tribute to the music of Columbus piano legend, Bob Allen. Hear his original arrangements from the first album and throughout his career blending jazz and classical music in a way that was truly his signature.

* Exhibition on Screen: "Painting the Modern Garden; Monet to Matisse," 7 p.m. Nov. 11; $12 online, $15 at the door. From the exhibition walls to the wonder and beauty of artists' gardens, the film takes a magical and widely traveled journey to discover how different contemporaries of Monet built and cultivated modern gardens to explore expressive motifs, abstract color, decorative design and utopian ideas.

* McConnell Arts Center Chamber Orchestra, A Handshake Across the Centuries, 3 p.m. Nov. 20; $25 online, $30 at the door; $15 for students. Katherine Borst Jones, is the featured flute soloist, in a program of diverse offering, from the renaissance to contemporary.
