The Worthington Kilbourne High School wrestling team finished third in its annual Wolfpack Classic on Dec. 12.

The Wolves went 4-1 in the 10-team event. They defeated St. Charles 48-36 and Cincinnati Moeller B 48-21 and lost to Hilliard Davidson 38-27 in pool play before beating Euclid 66-18 to advance to the third-place match, where they defeated DeSales 45-19.

Davidson beat Mason 48-34 to win the title. St. Charles defeated Walnut Ridge 42-29 in the fifth-place match, Moeller B topped Pickerington North 33-27 in the seventh-place match and Mount Gilead beat Euclid in the ninth-place match.

The Wolves opened the season Dec. 5 by placing fifth (129) in the 10-team Lee Spitzer Golden Bear Invitational at Upper Arlington, behind champion Olentangy Orange (286).

Seniors Charlie Osborn (126 pounds) and Andrew Cook (170) and junior Michael Duzzny (138) won titles for Kilbourne.

In the championship matches, Osborn defeated Anthony Epley of Zanesville Maysville 14-4, Duzzny beat Pickerington North's Bradley Collins 2-1 in overtime and Cook pinned North's Jared Sheck in 2 minutes, 15 seconds.

Cardinals finish seventh in Olentangy Invite

Thomas opened Dec. 5 by finishing seventh in the 11-team Olentangy Invitational.

Senior A.J. Jones finished first at 195 and seniors Martice Johnson (120) and Tyler Norris (126) and junior Justin Tullos (heavyweight) each placed third.
