Bexley police said an employee of a business in the 2500 block of East Main Street reported a man stole unspecified merchandise at 4:29 p.m. Jan. 2.

The suspect got into a gold car driven by a female, and the vehicle left eastbound in an alley behind the store, reports stated. Officers searched the area for the vehicle but were unable to locate it.

In other recent reports from the Bexley police department:

* A resident in the 1000 block of Grandon Avenue reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle between Jan. 16 and Jan. 17 and stole a pair of prescription sunglasses. The vehicle was parked under the carport in the rear of the house.

* A resident in the 900 block of South Roosevelt Avenue reported that sometime overnight on Jan. 17, someone entered his vehicle and stole $10 in coins from the console.
