Westerville police said someone broke the front door of a business in the 500 block of West Schrock Road between Feb. 15 and 16.
According to reports, a patrolling officer found the door was broken around 5 a.m. Feb. 16. The officer investigated and found that someone had thrown two blocks of concrete through the glass door, gaining access to the building.
A gumball machine and about $20 in a donation bin had been stolen. According to reports, the business owner was raising funds to help pay for his wife's cancer treatment.
The gumball machine was later found damaged on a bike path near the Alum Creek trail, reports stated.
Police are investigating.

* A 32-year-old Westerville woman was arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman in the 200 block of Brisbane Avenue.
Police responded to a call from a passerby who reported a woman was screaming "no" at a residence on the afternoon of Feb. 13.
When police arrived, they found the woman locked in a bathroom, where she claimed she was protecting herself from the other woman. The suspect claimed the woman had grabbed her by her hair, but police found the victim with scratches on her face and redness on her face and chest.
The victim alleged that during an argument she was grabbed by the hair and her head was slammed into a wall and then the floor, reports stated. She said she briefly lost consciousness before she fled to the bathroom.
Police arrested the other woman on charges of domestic violence and assault.
* Multiple victims reported car break-ins during mid-February, including incidents n the 300, 700 and 900 blocks of State Street and the first block of Kim Court East.
A variety of items were stolen, reports stated.
