An 18-year-old Columbus man was charged with OVI, OVI without a valid driver's license and failure to control after the vehicle he was driving hit a parked car in the 1900 block of Zollinger Road on March 11.

According to Upper Arlington police, the accident occurred at 5:23 a.m. The man also was charged with OVI per se/high breath because his blood-alcohol level tested at 0.17 or higher.

In Ohio, a motorist can be charged with OVI if the blood-alcohol level is 0.08 or higher.

Although the man avoided being taken to jail by posting bond, the OVI per se/high breath charge carries a mandatory three days in jail if he is convicted.

In other recent Upper Arlington Police Division reports:

* An employee at a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Professional Plaza reported two business checks were stolen and forged for undisclosed amounts between Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.

* A man in the 1800 block of Wyandotte Road reported someone used his personal information to open a credit card account between Jan. 31 and March 5.

* A woman in the 3100 block of Tremont Road reported someone used her aunt's personal information to open a credit card account and purchase items between Jan. 24 and March 5.

* A 29-year-old Dublin man was charged with speeding and possession of 16.6 grams of marijuana following a traffic stop near the intersection of West Fifth Avenue and Roxbury Road at 11:59 p.m. March 13.
