To the Editor:
U.S. Representative Steve Stivers (R-Ohio 15th District) recently announced the reintroduction of the Homeless Children and Youth Act at the Huckleberry House in Columbus.
The bill will help redefine youth homelessness and help more children lead stable lives. Stivers has been a passionate advocate for the homeless and especially our youth. He is to be commended for his continual work on this critical issue.
Stivers' co-sponsor on the bill is Democrat Dave Loebsack from Iowa. He announced the introduction of the bill in Columbus alongside Democrat U.S. Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio 3rd District), who is also working to help move the bill through Congress.
In today's environment of deep political divide, it's great to see Stivers tackle important issues like youth homelessness in a bipartisan way.
Let's hope other politicians can follow Stivers' example to reach across the aisle and to help make our communities better places for all, especially the underserved.
