Several juveniles told Grandview Heights police someone wearing a clown mask shot them with an airsoft rifle April 22 while they were at Pierce Field, 1075 W. First Ave.

One of the youngsters had visible injuries from the assault, but declined medical attention, according to reports.

The case is under investigation.

In other recent Grandview police reports:

* Officers responded April 21 to another round of thefts from cars.

The incidents occurred in the 800 blocks of Oxley, Thomas and Copeland roads and the 900 block of Quay Avenue.

The items stolen from the vehicles include a wallet, a GPS unit, a watch, two laptop computers, a calculator, a backpack, a flashlight and a gift bag containing a coffee cup and a picture frame.

Officers also responded April 21 to reports of a car and bike stolen from homes in the 900 block of Woodhill Drive.

One of the residents reported he parked a rental car at 9 p.m. April 20 in his parking space. He said he locked the car and took the keys, but discovered the vehicle was missing the next morning.

Another resident of Woodhill reported a bicycle was stolen overnight from his front yard.

The latest incidents follow a spate of reports officers investigated April 10. Several residents of Glenn Avenue, Lincoln Road, West First Avenue and Wyandotte Road reported thefts from their cars and, in one case, from a garage.

* A resident of the 800 block of Yard Street reported April 23 a generator was stolen from his garage.

* A resident of the 900 block of Quay Avenue reported April 22 that a suspicious car was parked outside his apartment. Police checked the license plate and discovered the car had been stolen out of Columbus.

* Two juveniles were arrested April 20 and charged with felony drug possession after officers were dispatched to assist security with evicting them from the Courtyard by Marriott, 780 Yard St.

The hotel was evicting the teens, both male Columbus residents, for smoking marijuana, reports said.

Officers made contact with the teens at the hotel's front entrance. Both were found to be in possession of crack cocaine, according to reports.

The first suspect, who is 16 years old, also was found to have several warrants out for his arrest.

The second suspect, who is 17 years old, was found in possession of a gun, according to reports. He was additionally charged with a felony count of carrying a concealed weapon.
