The Worthington City Schools board on May 8 hired a principal to replace the recently promoted Angie Adrean at Worthington Kilbourne High School.

Aric Thomas was hired at an annual salary of $127,428.

Treasurer Jeff McCuen said under the current administrators agreement, Thomas would be offered a benefits package that includes almost 16 percent of his salary paid into the State Teachers Retirement System and health-insurance benefits of $16,073.04 if he opts for family coverage or $5,984,40 for single coverage. Dental benefits would be $1,278 per year.

Thomas has been principal at Groveport Madison High School since 2010. Before that, he was assistant principal at the school for four years.

“I want to welcome Aric to our district and I know he will do a tremendous job for us,” said Superintendent Trent Bowers.

Adrean is moving up to a central-office position as chief academic officer on Aug. 1 She has been principal at Kilbourne since 2011.
