The Summer Lunch Program that feeds Gahanna children and families in need kicked off May 30 at Goshen Lane and Chapelfield elementary schools.

Brenda Johnston, executive director of Gahanna Residents in Need, said the program will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. weekdays until Aug. 4.

She said the program provided 4,157 lunches last year and even more are expected to be served this year.

Johnston said clients must have a Gahanna address and be accompanied by a parent.

She said GRIN also will collect items for a Back to School Fair that will be held Aug. 5.

School supplies, underwear, socks and personal hygiene items are needed.
