The Olentangy Local School District is asking residents for suggestions about Olentangy Berlin High School's colors and mascot.

The high school – the district's fourth – is under construction on Berlin Station Road in Berlin Township and is set to open for the 2018-19 school year.

Residents and students can access a survey at to provide feedback for district officials about potential colors and mascots for the new school. The survey will close July 26.

District officials already have determined "Olentangy blue" will be one of the school's two colors.

According to district policy, school mascots should be based on "local historical figures or animals." The policy prohibits the use of proper names or directional names for mascots.

The Olentangy school board is expected to announce the high school's colors and mascot at its Aug. 24 meeting after future Berlin students are given an additional opportunity for input.
