Following are Columbus and Franklin County Metropolitan Park District programs for July 20-27.

Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Moth Mania, 9:30 p.m. July 21 at White Oak Shelter. Participants will set light traps to lure in these nocturnal wonders. This is the second program in a series of three throughout the summer.

National Moth Week, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 23-30 at the nature center. Guests will celebrate National Moth Week and see a display of native moths.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

Walk and Roll, 11 a.m. July 21 at the nature center. Guests will bring their stroller or baby carrier to join others for a 2-mile walk.

Bugs and Blooms, 1 p.m. July 22 at the nature center. Guests will take a 2-mile walk to see flowers and the insects that visit them.

Metro Five-0: Level 1 Nature Sketching, 3 p.m. July 27 at the nature center. Ages 50 and older will learn to draw flowers and animals step-by-step.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 E. Dublin Granville Road, Westerville

Birdfeeding Basics, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 22 at the nature center. Guests will learn about birds, birdfeeders and birdseed and watch birds through the window.

Insect Hunt, 2 p.m. July 23 at the nature center. Guests will take a 2-mile walk and look for insects.

Glacier Ridge Metro Park

9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City

Bats, 8:30 p.m. July 20 at the Picnic Shelter Bulletin Board. Guests will take a 1-mile walk to detect bats and learn why the misunderstood animals are important.

Summer Stargazing, 9 p.m. July 22 at the Energy Center at the Windmill. Guests will view planets and constellations using telescopes and binoculars.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center

Bat Campfire, 8:30 p.m. July 22 at the nature center. Guests will take a short hike to watch these flying mammals and then enjoy a campfire.

Tae Kwon Do: Self-Defense, 10 a.m. July 25 at the nature center. Participants will join instructors from Tiger Woo's for a taekwondo lesson on the theme of self-defense. This martial art class instills confidence, builds strength and agility and develops coordination. No experience needed.

Homestead

4675 Cosgray Road, Hilliard

For Kids: Go Fish, 10 a.m. July 21 at the Amphitheater. Ages 3-15 will learn the basics of fishing and then try their hand at catching fish.

For Kids: Bug Hunt, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 25 at the Barn. Ages 6-10 will enjoy a short hike and catch insects as they explore the world of creepy crawlies.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville

Sunny Sundays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sundays at the Herb Garden. Guests will meet members of the Herb Society of America, Central Ohio Unit and have their questions answered.

Rocky Fork Metro Park

7180 Walnut St., Westerville

Kids, Parents and Grandparents: Summer Fun, 1 to 3 p.m. July 27 at the Millstone Picnic Area. Guests will bring their families and join for a craft and other summer activities.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

Pre-K Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St. Bring children for a nature-inspired story or two.

Birdwatching for Beginners, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests will learn how to use binoculars and search for birds.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville

Cold-blooded Critters, 2 to 5 p.m. July 22 at the Naturalist Office. Guests can visit the reptile and amphibian education animals.

Family Tram Rides, 2 to 5 p.m. July 22 at the Tram Stop. Guests can catch the tram at any of the yellow signs and enjoy a tour of the park.

Preschoolers: Summer Fun Tram Rides, 9, 10 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 2 p.m. July 24 and 25 at the Schrock Lake Picnic Shelter. Preschoolers will take a tram ride and wear their swimsuits for water fun before and after.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Riddle Me These, Please, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20-23. Guests can pick up a list of riddles at the farmhouse that will have them thinking their way around the farm.

Canning, Pickling and Preserving, 2 to 4 p.m. July 22. The farm ladies will be preserving garden produce throughout the program and talk about 19th-century methods compared to modern preservation techniques.

Slate Run Metro Park

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Music Bash: Classic Rock, 6 to 8 p.m. July 21 at the Buzzard's Roost Picnic Area. Netty and Broz, with performers from the band Code Red, will play a mix of classic rock hits from the '60s, '70s and '80s with a few more recent tunes. Seating will be available at picnic tables, or attendees can bring a folding chair. Concert will happen rain or shine.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

Preschoolers: Bats, 10 a.m. July 20 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will learn about bats through games, activities and stories.

Campfire Building 101, 7 p.m. July 22 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will learn the tricks to building campfires for their outdoor adventures.

Metro Parks Bike Tour 2017, 9 a.m. July 23 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will enjoy a family-friendly series of rides with park rangers as they explore bike trails. All rides include a long and a short route for experienced bikers and those just starting out. A patch will be given for anyone completing four of the six rides.

Leafy Tree ID Hike, 2 p.m. July 23 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will learn to identify trees using leaves and other characteristics on a 2-mile walk.

Walnut Woods
