A 58-year-old woman who lives in the 5400 block of Winding Way told an officer at 4:28 p.m. Aug. 9 that she faced the prospect of going into withdrawal unless she could obtain a police report regarding the theft of five prescriptions, including morphine, from her apartment earlier that day.

The woman said someone took the medicines at 12:30 p.m.

She said she needed the police report in order to get an emergency refill of the prescriptions.

* Designer sunglasses valued at $2,680, including a $995 pair of Gucci's, were shoplifted between 3:15 and 4:05 p.m. Aug. 9 from a store on Tuttle Crossing Boulevard.

* A $5,500 exhaust system was reported stolen at 4:41 p.m. Aug. 9 from a vehicle parked in the 7500 block of New Market Center Way. Equipment from the vehicle, which belongs to a nearby auto dealership and was being kept at a satellite location, was removed sometime after 8 a.m. July 26, according to the report.

* A representative of a store on Tuttle Crossing Boulevard filed an embezzlement complaint at 5:25 p.m. Aug. 4. According to the report, the suspect used her position as a store employee to steal $2,844.78 between March 4 and July 25.
