Two Delaware men unsuccessfully attempted to flee from police in separate incidents on the same day earlier this month.
A Delaware police officer initiated a traffic stop shortly after 2 a.m. Aug. 9 on Richards Drive near its intersection with Hill Street, according to police reports. The driver fled the area in his car, but officers caught up with him in a parking lot in the first block of New Market Drive after a short pursuit, reports said.
Officers arrested the 45-year-old Delaware man on charges of resisting arrest, a first-degree misdemeanor, and obstructing official business, a second-degree misdemeanor, according to police reports. The man also faces multiple traffic citations in relation to the incident, reports said.
In a separate incident, officers responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash shortly after 10:15 p.m. Aug. 9 in the 100 block of London Road. The driver attempted to flee after seeing police but was pulled over a short distance away, reports said.
Officers arrested the 39-year-old Delaware man on a charge of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a first-degree misdemeanor, reports said.

* A man and a woman reported a burglary occurred between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Aug. 10 in the first block of Penick Avenue. Someone broke into a residence through a side door and stole four televisions, together valued at $952, according to reports.
* A woman reported a burglary took place between 4:15 and 9:15 p.m. Aug. 10 in the 300 block of East Central Avenue. Someone broke into an apartment through a rear window and stole medication valued at $200, reports said.
* An officer located a stolen vehicle shortly after midnight Aug. 10 at Blue Limestone Park, 280 W. William St., according to police reports. The department turned the car over to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating the theft of the vehicle, reports said.
* A man told officers he was bitten by a large dog that was running loose between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 8 near the intersection of Adams and McKinley lanes.
