A Galloway man was arrested and charged with drug crimes in Westerville after allegedly crashing his vehicle into a tree and fleeing the scene.

According to reports from witnesses, the man crashed into a tree near the corner of Sunbury Road and Westray Drive and then ran from the vehicle on the morning of Aug. 10.

Officers arrived and established a perimeter and eventually found a 40-year-old suspect "hiding in bushes" in the 600 block of Winsholen Court, where he was arrested, according to reports.

After officers took the man back to the crash scene, they searched the vehicle and found several pills of prescription drugs along with a crack pipe, reports stated. Police charged the man with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to control and driving under suspension.

* Someone threw a landscaping rock through the window of a house in the first block of South Spring Road.

According to reports, the resident reported hearing something break around 2:30 a.m. Aug. 11. When he woke up the next morning, he found that someone had thrown the large rock through his front window.

The man told police he has no "problems" with anyone and did not know who would want to damage his property, according to reports.

* A resident in the first block of West Schrock Road reported someone broke into a vehicle and stole a prescription on the afternoon of Aug. 11.
