Following are Columbus and Franklin County Metropolitan Park District programs for Aug. 31 through Sept. 7.
Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park
1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway
Mammal Display, 1 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Nature Center. Guests will see skins, scat, skulls and skeletons of mammals.
Birds Display, 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Nature Center. Guests will see a display of mounts, eggs, nests and skulls of songbirds, raptors and waterfowl.
Cold-Blooded Creature Feature, 1 to 4 p.m. at the Nature Center. Guests will view a display of amphibians and reptiles.
Full Corn Moon Hike, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Ranger Station. Guests will take a 4-mile hike through fields and forest.
Blacklick Woods Metro Park
6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg
Story Time, 10 a.m. Aug. 31 at the Nature Center. Guests will learn about nature through stories and activities.
Labor Day Display, 8 a.m. Sept. 2-4 at the Nature Center. Guests will celebrate Labor Day at a display about nature's hardest working animals.
Morning Coffee and Wildlife Watch, 8 to 10 a.m. Sept. 2 at the Nature Center. Guests will view wildlife through the nature center windows and enjoy a cup of coffee.
Family Creeking, 2 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Nature Center. Guests will take a 2-mile, round-trip walk to Blacklick Creek to wade in the water in search of fish and crayfish.
Blendon Woods Metro Park
4265 E. Dublin Granville Road, Westerville
Monarch Weekend, 1 p.m. Sept. 2 and 3 at the Nature Center. Guests will see monarch butterflies, caterpillars and chrysalises in the butterfly tent, as well as learn about plants for butterflies, view displays and try crafts and activities all about monarchs.
Glacier Ridge Metro Park
9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City
Campfire and S'mores, 7 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Red Oak Trailhead. Guests will enjoy s'mores around the campfire. Families are encouraged to bring their own food to cook.
Walk and Woof, 7 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Picnic Shelter Bulletin Board. Guests will take a 2.5-mile hike with their dog.
Highbanks Metro Park
9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center
Movies in the Park, 8 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Big Meadows Picnic Area. Guests will watch a free screening of the newest Star Wars movie, as well as meet some costumed characters and learn about the science behind the movie.
Tram Time, 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Big Meadows Picnic Area. Guests will enjoy the sights of the season as they take a tram tour through the park. The tram will run continuously from the Big Meadows Picnic Area.
Howl at the Moon, 8 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Nature Center. Guests will learn about the full moon on a 3.5-mile hike with their dog.
4675 Cosgray Road, Hilliard
Family Scavenger Hunt, 1 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Nature Center. Guests will pick up a scavenger hunt and return it for a prize.
Preschoolers: Animal Superheroes, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Barn. Guests will discover the many superhero qualities of animals and test their own powers. Children ages 3-6 are encouraged to wear their favorite superhero costume.
Inniswood Metro Gardens
940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville
Sunny Sundays, 1:30 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Herb Garden. Members of the Herb Society of America, Central Ohio Unit will answer questions.
Preschool in the Gardens: Feet Feats, 9:30 and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Education Pavilion. Preschoolers will learn about the jumping, swimming, smelling and other abilities of animal feet. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Scioto Audubon Metro Park
400 W. Whittier St., Columbus
Pre-K Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St. Bring little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.
Weekly Bird Hike, 10 a.m. Sept. 2 at Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests will search for birds in the park.
Sharon Woods Metro Park
6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville
Fast-paced Adult Full Moon Hike, 8:15 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Apple Ridge Bulletin Board. Guests will take a fast-paced 2.8-mile hike along gravel, paved and natural surface trails.
Slate Run Living Historical Farm
1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester
Preschoolers at the Farm: Nursery Rhymes, 10:30 a.m. Aug. 31. Preschoolers will learn about farm life and animals through traditional rhymes.
All in a Day's Work, 1 p.m. Sept. 3 and 4 at the Farmhouse. Guests will see a display about 19th century occupations and the history of Labor Day.
Three Creeks Park
3860 Bixby Road, Groveport
Barking and Breakfast, 9 a.m. Sept. 2 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will enjoy breakfast snacks with their dog and then take an easy 2.5-mile walk.
Fur and Feathers Display, 1 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will look at and touch skins and skulls of Ohio mammals and birds.
Catch a Bug, 2 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will grab a net to catch some bugs then learn to identify them.
Fishing Around The Pond, 10 a.m. Sept. 4 at the Heron Pond Bulletin Board, 3400 Williams Road, Columbus. Ages 15 and younger will cast a line and try to catch some fish. Poles and bait will be available.
