Grandview Heights police responded just after 8 a.m. Aug. 31 to a report of a stolen vehicle.
A resident of the 1300 block of Haines Avenue told police he had parked his car the night before in front of his house, only to discover it was missing the next morning. He said he had possession of all the keys to the car.
The man said a neighbor reported hearing a car start about 4:10 a.m., but it is not known if the sound was related to the stolen car.
A few hours later, a resident of the 1300 block of Bluff Avenue reported someone had attempted to steal her car overnight. The woman said she found her car's ignition column had been damaged.
In other recent Grandview police reports:
* A resident of the 1300 block of West First Avenue reported Aug. 31 that someone broke into her garage and stole a bicycle. The woman said she believes the theft occurred overnight.
Another resident of the same block reported a rock was thrown at the back window of his car, shattering it. The damaged occurred between Aug. 19 and 26 while the car was parked on the street, reports said.
* A resident of the 1400 block of Inglis Avenue told police Aug. 31 the driver's-side window of her van was broken overnight. She said about $2 in change was stolen.
* A bicycle was reported stolen from the rack near the athletic fields at Grandview Heights High School, 1587 W. Third Ave. The bike was stolen between 6 p.m. Aug. 24 and 5 p.m. Aug. 27, reports said.
