Currently in its 21st season, the Hilliard Darby High School Marching Band has a long history of success at marching band contests throughout Ohio. The band has earned numerous Grand Champion awards, as well as awards for outstanding music, visual, general effect, percussion, and color guard.

In 2017, the Darby Marching Band will be a featured band with the NBC4 Morning Tailgate and will perform as guests of The Ohio State University Marching Band at Skull Session before the Michigan State game. Band members recently travelled to Orlando, Florida, to represent Hilliard in a parade performance at Disney’s Magic Kingdon.

The band’s competition show, “The Bridge”, is inspired by the poetry of Shel Silverstein and tells the story of an individual building a bridge to her future. The show features “The Tender Land” and “Appalachian Spring” by Aaron Copland, and “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Paul Simon.
