An 18-year-old Vicki Court man was charged with inducing panic at 11:56 a.m. Oct. 12 after police examined video footage that allegedly showed him setting off a fire alarm the previous day at Beechcroft High School.
The alarm was pulled at 9:05 a.m. Oct. 11, which resulted in the evacuation of the entire school, according to a responding officer.
In other Northland-area police reports:
* Officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 2300 block of Clybourne Road at 7:42 p.m. Oct. 12. The report listed the victims as a juvenile male and a 35-year-old man, along with the amount involved in the crime, $2.
* Handguns and rifles valued at just under $3,400 and a $2,000 diamond ring were stolen in a break-in at a residence in the 4500 block of Glenhaven Drive that was reported at 4:04 p.m. Oct. 12. The victim said the crime occurred sometime after 11:30 that morning.
* A Dallas Cowboys hat and jersey valued at $460 were among items stolen from an apartment in the 5700 block of North Meadows Boulevard in a burglary that was reported at 5:56 p.m. Oct. 11. The victim, a 59-year-old man, said he left his apartment door unlocked from 4 to 5 p.m. while he walked to a store. When he returned, he discovered the hat and jersey were missing, along with a $160 DVD player, $20 worth of food and two prescription medicines.
