A craft brewery plans to give Powell’s beer lovers another place to wet their whistles in the city’s downtown.  The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission on Oct. 25 reviewed Nocterra Brewing Co.’s plans to revamp a former furniture and decor store at 41 Depot St. for use as a brewery and taproom. The building, which sits northeast of the Olentangy Street railroad crossing, housed the Collection until a 2014 fire led the business to move. The brewery’s proposal calls for the renovation of the building and the construction of a 1,350-square-foot addition, which will be used to store brewing equipment and grain. The addition will sit on the west side of the building, alongside a prefabricated walk-in cooler.   The zoning board tabled a vote on the project to allow the city’s Historic Downtown Advisory Commission to first review the proposal. Nocterra Brewing Co. would be the city’s second craft brewer. Ill Mannered Brewing Co. opened in a storefront on Grace Drive in 2015 and has plans to expand to a new building just east of its current home.    tgallick@thisweeknews.com
