The Columbus International Children's Choir annual winter concert is set for Sunday, Dec. 10.

The choir, which features members from throughout central Ohio and is based at Bethel International United Methodist Church in northwest Columbus, will begin performing at 6 p.m. at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High St.

"It's got a holiday theme, of course," said Tatiana Kats, the choir's founder and artistic director. "We do all kind of things. We do some holiday songs. We do some classical songs."

Boyce Lancaster, an award-winning radio producer who has been at WOSU-FM for more than 25 years, will be master of ceremonies for the concert.

Among the songs the choir will be performing, Kats said, is one with a South African theme in honor of the country the children will visit this summer for the biannual World Choir Games. This year's events take place in Tshwane, South Africa, July 4-14.

The 10th World Choir Games are being held in Africa for the first time.

Also on the December calendar is the Northland Area Business Association's annual holiday lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 12 in the conference room of the Days Inn North, 1212 E. Dublin-Granville Road.

The event wraps up the year for the business organization, which was founded in 1999 in cooperation with the Northland Community Council.

NABA President Dave Cooper said the event will include the presentation of a check to the NABA golf outing's community partner, the North YMCA.

"We'll also be announcing the date and time and place for the golf outing for 2018," Cooper said.

Finally, the organization's officers for 2018 will be announced and Cooper indicated special awards also may be given out Dec. 23.
