Someone drove a vehicle on New Albany-Plain Local School District sports fields near Kardules Fields Way and New Albany-Condit Road between 5 p.m. Dec. 31 and 7 a.m. Jan. 1, according to the New Albany Police Department.

The report said the fields were damaged and the act was committed without "due regard for the safety of others."

The fields are used for practices, said district spokesman Patrick Gallaway. Estimated damage is $500, he said.

No other details were available from the report. A call and email directed to New Albany police in an attempt to gather more information were not returned.

* A 27-year-old Columbus man was cited for drug abuse and controlled-substance possession or use after a traffic stop for failure to display license plates at 4:15 p.m. Jan. 4 at Swickard Woods Boulevard and Fodor Road.

A "marijuana-wax substance" was found in the vehicle.

* A 47-year-old Newark woman was charged with OVI after a traffic stop at 8:23 a.m. Jan. 4 at state Route 161 and U.S. Route 62.

Officers had been dispatched to Route 161 westbound on the report of a reckless driver.

* A 22-year-old Columbus man was cited for illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substances after a traffic stop for driving under suspension at 7:22 p.m. Jan. 1 at state Route 161 and Johnstown roads.

Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

* An 18-year-old Columbus man was charged with a curfew violation, sales to and use by underage persons and securing public accommodations for underage consumption of beer or intoxicating liquor after a traffic stop at 1:38 a.m. Jan. 1 at New Albany and Dean Farm roads.

Alcohol was found in the vehicle, which had three juvenile occupants.

* A 32-year-old Lancaster man was cited for illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, for illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia with a marijuana specification and possession of controlled substances after a traffic stop for failure to display license plates at 4:08 p.m. Dec. 31 at state Route 161 and Johnstown Road.

Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.
