Police chased five males suspected of stealing a car through several city streets before making arrests Jan. 20.
Police reports said officers tracked the car to where it was parked at 12:34 a.m. at the corner of Slate Ridge Boulevard and Farmsbury Road. Witnesses reported seeing four black males get out of the car and run through the trees. The car sped away afterward, according to the police report.
Several officers tracked the four men running north of Palmer Road, then callers and witnesses reported the four were on Oak Valley Road. One was described as wearing a black hoodie and gray sweatpants.
The car was stopped by police in the 1800 block of Lockmore Road and the driver was arrested.
A short time later, officers had the other four men at gunpoint on Country Brook Road, where they were arrested. Two of the males were juveniles, according to the police report.

* Police are investigating a report that a child was bitten by a neighbor's dog at 9 a.m. Jan. 26 in the 8400 block of Landseer Drive while walking to a bus stop. Officers called Licking County Animal Control to help investigate the incident.
* An employee told police a female shoplifter got away with $300 worth of merchandise at 4:53 p.m. Jan. 20 from a business in the 2900 block of Taylor Road Extension. The woman was described as black, wearing purple leggings and a gray shirt and tall knit boots. The employee said the woman fled the store and got into a blue or green four-door Saturn with a missing hubcap. The car drove left toward Taylor Road.
* A homeowner caught a would-be burglar in his home at 8:49 p.m. Jan. 20 in Chalfield Court. He told police he opened the door to his home and saw a man in a hoodie, so he closed the door and called police.
Officers searched the house and saw the back patio door was open. They searched the surrounding area and several streets but were unable to find the suspect.
* Officers tried to track down a group of teens that witnesses said had searched through nine cars and stolen one GPS, beginning at 10:50 p.m. Jan. 21 and continuing through 12:04 a.m. Jan. 22 in the 700 block of Crofton Circle. Doors were left open on five of the cars after they were searched, police reports said. A witness said he saw several teens running through the area. Police were unable to track down the suspects, according to the police report.
